Program Overview
Schedule an AppointmentOur program is built on clear, science-based principles. To succeed, patients must be comfortable with these foundations and committed to active participation.
This program is handled mostly by Dr. Mirman, especially if NRP supplements are used.
Principles of the NeuroReplete Weight Loss Program:
Calorie Balance Matters: One pound of fat on your body equals about 3,500 calories. Therefore, to lose a pound, you need to under-eat or burn this much. You need about 11 calories per pound of your weight per day (+/- 10-20%) to maintain your weight. This number is determined by the surface area of your skin and your body temperature, and has been figured out by very exacting physiology experiments. Eating more than your body needs leads to weight gain; eating less or burning more leads to weight loss.
Exercise & Weight Loss: While exercise benefits overall health, it has limited impact on significant weight loss for most people. Intake calorie control is more effective. For example, running a mile burns about 100-150 calories, depending on your weight. An average size apple or a slice of bread has about as much energy. It is easier for most people to abstain from eating an apple than to run a mile.
Calorie Restriction is Essential: Weight loss requires consistently consuming fewer calories than your body needs to maintain your weight. We are evolved to do the opposite, i.e. eat more to store energy for lean times. Therefore, it is very difficult for most people to do this without appetite suppression.
Appetite Suppression: Natural NeuroResearch supplements or GLP-1 drugs like semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) or tirzepatide (Mounjaro or Zepbound) are used to reduce hunger and support long-term success.
Maintenance is Ongoing: Obesity is a chronic condition requiring continued management. Supplements usually remain part of long-term care.
Calorie Tracking & Accountability: Patients should keep track of calories they consume. Tools like CalorieKing.com are recommended.
Honesty & Self-Awareness: Accurate self-reporting is crucial. We work closely with patients to identify challenges and adjust as needed. Some patients tell us that they eat almost nothing, and still don't lose any weight. Well, "slow metabolism" appears to be a figment of imagination. We feel that the only way for this to happen is if the Law of Conservation of Energy, the most fundamental law of physics, does not work on you. This would be a supernatural occurrence (as in God filling you with calories from air, without eating). We feel that if this is happening in your case, this program will not work for you. We would not presume to argue with God!

Article - The NeuroReplete Weight Loss Program Stops Constant Hunger; One Doctor's True Story
By Jacob Mirman, MD, DHt, CCH, MHom · Written in 2015
"The subject of weight loss has always been a relevant topic for me. Why? Because I often refer to myself as a "pig" or a "glutton". For some reason my natural state seems to consist of a constant need to eat. From a very early age I have been looking for a way to combat the feeling that I am always hungry. This constant hunger was very stressful."
"I tried eating "fake foods" or the trendy diet foods but that didn't work. While I was still in medical school I found an herb that was very effective in suppressing my appetite and I did lose weight, but that was not a safe long-term solution. Any drug whether it is conventional or herbal is not a good alternative for hunger suppression."
