9. Purpose of Technology

To ensure the highest level of accuracy in your medical records and to allow your provider to focus fully on your care, this practice utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) for documentation technology. This AI assists in transcribing the interaction between you and your provider into a clinical encounter note.

Data Privacy and Security

We prioritize the privacy of your Protected Health Information (PHI). Please be advised of the following:

  • Permanent Audio Storage: Our AI service providers audio is generated text only. Once the clinical note is completed, the original audio recording is immediately and permanently deleted - no audio recordings are stored by the AI service provider.
  • EMR Integration: The resulting documentation is stored exclusively within your Electronic Medical Record (EMR), just like a traditional typed note.
  • No External Sharing: Your data is not used to "train" the AI or for other purposes, nor is it shared with third-party advertisers or external databases.
  • Consent: By continuing to receive care at this practice, you acknowledge and consent to the use of this AI documentation technology as a permanently integrated part of your record.
  • Patient Rights: The use of this technology is voluntary. You have the right to request that the AI not be used at any point during your visit and medical care will not be affected by this preference.
