NeuroResearch protocol is one of the best biochemical methods of treatment of neurotransmitter imbalance disorders, which include mood disorders like depression, anxiety and others, ADD, OCD, migraines, fibromyalgia, movement disorders like Parkinson’s disease and Benign Familial Tremor, some gut disorders and others. They are also an integral part of our weight management program. See an abbreviated list of conditions amenable to this treatment in the box below. Homeopathy and acupuncture are some of the non-biochemical modalities that could address some of these conditions. Discuss options with Dr. Mirman. He can also explain the differences between biochemical and non-biochemical approaches.
NeuroResearch supplements contain amino acids 5-HTP, L-tyrosine, L-Dopa and other nutritional components to assist the body in achieving proper neurotransmitter balance and alleviate symptoms. These are all natural substances found in food, not drugs. Dr. Mirman has used these supplements to help patients with Parkinson’s disease and other conditions and many have experienced dramatic improvements in their symptoms. The supplements are produced by CHK Nutrition
For science behind this approach please see the bibliography of writings by Dr. Hinz, the inventor of the protocol. See also Dr. Mirman’s article, Nervous System Function, Simplified. In this article, Dr. Mirman explains highly complicated physiology and biochemistry of synapses and Dr. Hinz’s protocol in very simple language. Feel free to contact Dr. Mirman with further questions about this method.

The visits are handled like any regular visits and may be covered by your insurance.
These supplements are not covered by insurance. For most people, except those treated for movement disorders like Parkinson’s disease and restless leg syndrome, the cost of the supplements averages between $165 and $311 plus tax (if bought in office or shipped in MN) per month, with a minority falling outside this range. Movement disorder patients may expect higher cost, Parkinson’s disease being the most expensive due the high doses of L-dopa required for good results. Parkinson’s disease treatment supplement cost may be as high as $1000 a month for some patients.
Nutritional support for Parkinson’s disease and other conditions
Dr. Hinz developed this method of using specific nutritional support to assist in situations where neurotransmitter balance is impaired, such as depression, anxiety, migraine headaches, insomnia, Parkinson’s disease, Crohn’s disease, ADD/ADHD, obesity and other conditions. The supplements provide essential amino acids and cofactor vitamins and minerals to help the body balance the catecholamine (epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine) and serotonin neurotransmitter systems.
Finding the exact necessary dose of each of the ingredients in the protocol is not a trivial matter. Dr. Mirman is an expert in optimizing the protocol for each individual patient.
Neurotransmitter imbalances
Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that relay information between brain cells. Neurotransmitter imbalances cause the communication lines to malfunction; this often results in one or more symptoms of neurotransmitter imbalance (see list below).
Imbalances cause disease symptoms

The key point is that when imbalances in neurotransmitters occur, information is not relayed optimally in the nervous system which causes symptoms. Most people affected exhibit more than one of these conditions, but fail to make the connection between them.
LifeMedical offers relief
Using NeuroResearch Protocol (AKA Dr. Hinz’s protocol) therapy with NeuroReplete supplements helps the nervous system do its work more efficiently. With professional guidance, properly balanced amino acid therapy can provide relief for many people suffering with these conditions. Working safely, we’ll monitor your progress as this therapy replenishes and balances the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine.
