Injured in a Car Accident? What Should your Car Insurance Do For You?
Minnesota is a “No-Fault State” which means that after a motor vehicle accident you are entitled to up to $20,000 in medical treatment for any injuries sustained. If you are injured severely and need treatment past the “No-Fault Limit” above, you can file an additional bodily injury claim to make sure you get back to your pre-injury status.
Can’t work? Wage Loss
- 85% of your normal wage up to a max of $500/week

Injured at Work? We can help
At Life Medical we understand how challenging (and expensive) it can be to be injured, unable to perform your normal work and take home your normal pay. As you go through any recommended treatment, we will work with you and your employer to assist you back into the workforce in a safe and efficient manner that will let you reduce any economic hardship and prevent reinjury. We do this by offering restrictions to your normal duties that let you work within a safe range of motion or load. If you are unable to work or your work is unable to accommodate any restrictions Worker’s Compensation insurance provides several different types of wage loss to ensure you do not go hungry
Temporary Total Disability (TTD): Unable to Work
- 66% of your average wage
Temporary Partial Disability (TPD): Working but not as much as before
- 66% of the difference between your weekly wage and what you’re earning at reduced hours
Permanent Partial Disability (PPD): Part of you Broke and Does not Heal Completely
- After you have reached Maximum Medical Improvement, a doctor will use Minnesota Statutes to rate your injury. Based on the rating you are entitled to ongoing benefits from your insurance
- For example: if you lose a tooth the applicable PPD is 0.5% and entitles you to $375 recurring payments
Permanent Total Disability (PTD): Unable to Work again
- Though this is uncommon if you are unable to recover from your injury at all your workers compensation insurance can provide benefits extending for years
