Some of the treatments offered by Life Medical are:
Ultrasound This therapy uses high-energy, very-high-frequency sound waves (well above the range of human hearing) to help ease painful joints and muscles. The hand-held ultrasound applicator focuses ultrasound waves into joints and muscles, and the treatment is completely painless and free of side effects.
Phonophoresis This process uses high frequency, low intensity ultrasound waves to enhance the delivery of medications through the skin in an effort to enhance the absorption of topically applied analgesics and anti-inflammatory agents.
Iontophoresis This process introduces an anti-inflammatory medicine through the skin using a mild electrical current. It is a safe and effective alternative to injections, oral medications, and trans-dermal gels or patches, and it is a relatively painless option for patients who may be opposed to injections. It minimizes potential tissue trauma from injections, and has few side effects.
Infratonic This therapy utilizes low frequency acoustical vibrations to help relieve pain or spasms. Powerful ultra-low frequency sound waves (below the range of human hearing) increase microcirculation, reduce swelling, relieve chronic pain, and promote healing. Tests in hospitals and research laboratories found that ultra-low frequency sound was effective at accelerating healing and strengthening immune function.
Spinal Decompression This therapy is an effective, non-invasive, non-surgical, pain-free, FDA cleared alternative to back and neck surgery. This procedure was developed for the treatment of disc herniation, bulging disc, degenerative disc disease, posterior facet syndrome, back or neck pain, numbness, tingling, or sciatica.
Cryotherapy This is a minimally invasive treatment that uses an extremely cold liquid or instrument to freeze and destroy abnormal skin cells or diseased tissue that requires removal.
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) This therapy uses safe low-voltage electrical current to relieve pain. Two electrodes are connected to the skin closest to the area of pain, creating a circuit of electrical impulses that travels along nerve fibers and, for some people, reduces pain. The electrical current can be set for different intensity levels, and for either a steady flow or short bursts.
Therapeutic Exercise Facility Therapeutic exercise is valuable in working with chronic problems such as degenerative joint disease, myofascial pain syndrome, and other conditions that respond well to prescribed, partially monitored exercise programs. Our on-site gym includes Nautilus equipment, a motorized treadmill, a stationary bike, and free weights.
