Low Level Laser Therapy
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT, also called “Cold Laser”) is a method of light therapy known to stimulate healing at the cellular level. The term usually incorporates Red and Infrared LED and low intensity infrared (830 nm) laser. Life Medical employs the most advanced equipment, made by Meditech / Bioflex.
The Bioflex® system is FDA approved. It has been in extensive use in Canada and in many clinics in the USA. There are numerous studies proving its effectiveness in a variety of conditions.
Life Medical featured the first Low Level Laser Therapy systems in Minnesota (see the story below), and are among the international leaders in its use for the following conditions:
- Osteoarthritis / degenerative joint disease, a condition resulting from wear-and-tear damage to joints, such as knees, feet, finger knuckles, (including TMJ), etc. We have been successful in many cases in preventing and postponing surgery, such as knee replacements.
- Acute and chronic injuries to joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles, skin, etc. We've had success in healing MRI-proven rotator cuff tears, and have prevented numerous surgeries for this condition.
- Local inflammatory connective tissue conditions, including overuse syndromes such as carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis / heel spur, tennis elbow, sprains, strains, etc. LLLT is an approved treatment in Canada for carpal tunnel syndrome and is covered by the National Health Service.
- Chronic non-healing skin ulcers and other skin issues.
- Cosmetic problems, such as stretch marks, etc.
- Many other conditions - if you have a question about whether your condition may respond to LLLT, please call or email us.
